About the founder

Mohit Pandey

Technology builder, author and AI-assisted music creator working from Almora, Uttarakhand.

Mohit Pandey is an Indian independent technology builder, author and creative producer. His work spans entertainment production, accessible technology writing, AI-assisted music and product development. He is a B.Tech graduate of the College of Technology, Pantnagar, and is based in Almora in the Kumaon region of Uttarakhand.

He founded RoamWise to build practical travel-planning tools from outside a major technology hub. He leads product direction, software development, travel research, partnerships and day-to-day operations with a small contributor team. The product focuses on usable itineraries, complete-cost comparisons, quieter alternatives and clear sourcing rather than unsupported recommendations.

Screen and production work

Before RoamWise, Mohit worked across television and digital production. During an assistant-direction internship on Zindabaad (2018), he received an on-screen credit under “Asst Directors.” The political-action web series was produced by Vikram Bhatt's VB On The Web with JioCinema. The credit can be checked in the official episode's closing titles.

His earlier television experience also includes an on-screen appearance in an episode of C.I.D. The public record is linked as an episode appearance; this page does not assign a character name or a credited acting designation that is not shown in the available record.

Why I built it

I kept watching people plan trips badly, and I kept doing it myself. The pattern is always the same. You read a listicle that recommends the same six places everyone else recommends. You arrive in peak season with everyone else who read the same article. You compare prices that describe different services, underestimate transfers, or follow a crowded checklist that does not match your interests. You come home having spent more time moving and less time doing what brought you there.

None of that is because travellers are careless. It is because the information that would prevent it is scattered, out of date, or written by someone being paid to recommend a hotel. What is missing is not inspiration. There is plenty of inspiration. What is missing is a clear method: compare complete prices, group a route sensibly, check the responsible source and keep a workable alternative.

What RoamWise actually does

How it makes money

I would rather tell you this plainly than have you wonder.

What we do not do: sell your personal data, sell an unsupported ranking, or pay for false reviews. See the privacy policy for the data practices that apply to the service.

Things I will not build

People ask for features I have turned down, and the reasons are consistent enough to state publicly.

The low-carbon side

Travel has a real climate cost and pretending otherwise helps nobody. RoamWise calculates emissions using published conversion factors from DEFRA/BEIS and IPCC AR6, shows lower-carbon alternatives for a given distance, and keeps a ledger of what you avoided.

One deliberate choice: the app says emissions avoided, never "carbon removed" or "climate reversed". Taking a train instead of a flight genuinely avoids emissions. It does not pull existing carbon out of the atmosphere. Overstating that would be greenwashing on your behalf, and an honest number is the only kind worth putting on a certificate.
